Here is a quick break down of As Tears Go By (1988) directed by Wong Kar Wai in his pre-Christopher Doyle days. This was a pretty pathetic gangster movie as WKW’s directorial debut, but it showed signs of amazing lighting and camera work - extremely unique as compared to what Hong Kong cinema had to offer in the late 80’s.
